With a team of professional and experienced counsellors working from our dedicated counselling building in the heart of Llanelli, Llanelli Mind has provided counselling services across southwest Wales for over a decade. Fully insured and members of a professional body whose code of ethics is embedded into the core of our work we offer counselling both in person and digitally to all of our clients and are proud to say we are here to listen.

About this service:
Our Blue Ribbon Counselling Service is a non-profit service provided by our dedicated team of qualified counsellors for those in crisis or who do not meet the criteria for other counselling services.
All profits from our Open Access counselling services go towards providing counselling sessions to those who need it most, meeting a real need in our community.

Frequently Asked Questions
Accessing the Blue Ribbon Service
Our Blue Ribbon Service is offered by Agency & Professional referral ONLY, and we are unable to accept self-referrals, or referrals from friends and family at this time.
Blue Ribbon Service Referral Criteria
Please note that clients must meet all criteria to be considered for the service:
- 18 years of age or over
- Client must have a permanent Llanelli address
- Traumatic event/s impacting them now (In crisis)
- Unable to fund a paid service (significant hardship not necessarily unemployed, lack of disposable income)
- Not actively suicidal
Assessment: All referrals will be assessed on our next working day.
Follow up: We will contact you and the client following assessment to let you know the outcome.
Appointments: We will endeavour to offer appointments within a week of assessment date.
Waiting times:
We are always asked “how long will I wait?” This is difficult to predict as it is dependent on referral numbers however we will generally offer an appointment within a week of your assessment.
