With a team of professional and experienced counsellors working from our dedicated counselling building in the heart of Llanelli, Llanelli Mind has provided counselling services across southwest Wales for over a decade. Fully insured and members of a professional body whose code of ethics is embedded into the core of our work we offer counselling both in person and digitally to all of our clients and are proud to say we are here to listen.

About this service:
Established in 2018 the Llanelli Cluster service provides counselling for the following GP Surgeries across Llanelli:
- Avenue Villa,
- Ashgrove,
- Burryport,
- Fairfield,
- Llangennech,
- Llwynhendy and
- Ty Elli.
The Llanelli GP Counselling Service is open to all patients meeting a criteria of mild to moderate need. Referrals are accepted from all clinical staff and social prescribers attached to the surgeries with a standard referral letter and risk assessment or by completing the referral form.

Accessing the Llanelli GP Counselling Service
Our Llanelli GP Counselling Service is offered by GP / Clinical Staff referral ONLY. Please speak to your GP Surgery to request a referral.
Assessment and what you can expect:
Once we receive a referral we will contact you to arrange an assessment which will be carried out by phone. During the assessment we will talk to you about you, identifying your needs pathway and how best we can help. We may make a number of suggestions but it is your choice which pathway you choose to take whilst working with us. The next step will be to place you on a waiting list or lists depending on your pathway.
Waiting times:
We are always asked “how long will I wait?” This is difficult to predict as it is dependent on referral numbers however we will generally offer an assessment between two and four weeks of receiving a referral and then at assessment we will let you know how long you might wait for other services. At this time we may also offer you additional support whilst you wait.
